Dear TLC: This is the most , I’ve ever learned about you and your a lot more interesting than you portray. You are very quite but yet you managed to free yourself but why ? Why does it take hiding behind a computer screen to be this open this honest?

Dear CuriousCat: I’m not really sure how to take your question/comment combo. Thank you, I like to think of myself as interesting as well. I would say that if your perception of me is that I am quiet and this is the most that you’ve ever learned about me, it is because you are not close to me. I don’t generally talk about my private life to people that are not involved in it (the reason for that is also mentioned in the first story).
I’m not really sure how to answer your question as to why I “managed to free myself,” I’d imagine that would be a goal anyone would have. These stories are reflections and began more for me than for anyone else, but I realized that other people can benefit from hearing them.
As far as hiding behind a computer screen, I would say that’s not an accurate portrayal. I am not hiding, you know who I am and you know how to find me. What I am doing is allowing the public to know certain parts of my life to convey a stronger message in the hopes that it helps someone else heal from their own experiences and using an avenue that I enjoy to do so.
In terms of being open and honest, it didn’t take the internet for me to be open and honest about what I’ve been through or how I feel. There are close people in my life that knew about these situations and how I felt long before I decided to share them with the public.
