February

So this is my first month of “One Act of Kindness.” It sort of happened by accident, so here’s the backstory. I was in OKC, walking through Walmart with my mom and happened to see that hats and gloves were on clearance for $1. In my head, I just thought “Well, I can afford to get some of these and donate them somewhere,” so I picked up some of the cutest ones and threw them in my cart. It didn’t seem like a big deal to me since I only spent about $15.

Well, when I got back to Stillwater, I discovered that our Walmart not only had gloves and hats on clearance, but they also had the cutest leggings, jeans, sweatpants, and even outfits for $1-$3 and they ranged from 2T-5T and some newborn sizes as well. If you know me, you know I fell for all of the colors and styles that I bought about $30 worth and decided I would donate it all to Wings of Hope, here, in Stillwater.

This month’s #OneActOfKindness is in honor of my grandmother, Alfreda. Her birthday is February 15 and she has spent the better part of her life dedicated to children in Oklahoma. She works for Rainbow Fleet, a wonderful nonprofit, and makes sure that children across the state are getting fed properly and have access to learning resources. She’s pretty amazing and I’m lucky to have her. Today is her 78th birthday!
